One of these irreplaceable employees is Kristin Alexin, a V.P. of National Accounts! An industry veteran who’s focused on helping clients and fulfilling all of their signage needs, is a valuable part of the HOTELSIGNS.com family. Here’s more about her and what drives her in working with the hospitality industry.
Where are you originally from, and where do you live now?

I was born in Pittsburgh and when I was 12, my family moved to Sarasota, FL, allowing me to grow up with sand, salt and sun! I currently live in Chattanooga, which I moved to about 12 years ago. It’s a great city!
How long have you been in the sign industry and with HOTELSIGNS.com?
I’ve worked for HOTELSIGNS.COM for 16 years, but I’ve worked in the interior sign industry for a total of 23 years.
What’s the most rewarding part of your job?
I love the fast pace of the hospitality industry, as well as putting all of my years of experience to work for our clients. We have a great team to support any project, from unique designs to brand signage. Since we have a Code Compliance Team on staff, code signage that may not even be a consideration are included to ensure our sign packages are complete! I like taking these steps to help take the “guess work” out of signage for our customers.
What’s something you’ve learned since being in the industry that hospitality professionals don’t often know about signs?
I quickly learned that signs are not kept ready to ship on a shelf, and that every sign involves a hands-on process by our team of Sign Artisans. Every step of manufacturing utilizes an Artisan’s personal touch, as well as state-of-the-art equipment! The messages on signs also vary from property to property, making the SignSpec© quoting process vitally important to ensure accuracy. This is why I like to consider myself a sign expert for my clients to help make the tediousness of specifying signage an easy process!
Trade shows are back! Why should [hoteliers] consider attending?

Meeting my customers at trade shows, some that I have worked with for years and have never met face to face, is golden. Putting faces and names together and showing new trends in interior signage and discussing how we can do things better is priceless, both for myself and the clients I work with!
Outside of helping clients get the best signs ever, what do you enjoy doing?

I love my dogs! I have a super sweet 9 year old Golden Retriever, and a giant 1-year-old 85 lb. Golden Doodle named Oliver, who I affectionately refer to as “Mayhem”. I have gotten into playing pickle ball, and I can’t wait for new travel adventures and experiences!
